About this transition
A practical technical background, a deliberate move toward Linux and infrastructure, and a public record of how the competence is being built.
I have worked in technical roles for most of my professional life: construction and renovation, electrical work, datacabling, telecom infrastructure, technical education support and application support.
The common thread has always been systems, troubleshooting and practical problem solving.
I am now making a deliberate transition toward system administration, Linux and infrastructure.
My earlier experience gives me a different starting point from a traditional IT graduate. I am already used to working independently, communicating with clients and users, following procedures, diagnosing faults and being responsible for the quality of the final result.
What I still need to build is depth in modern IT infrastructure. That is what this website documents.
I study Linux, networking, Bash, security, system administration, virtualization, containers and eventually Kubernetes and DevOps practices. I use a homelab to turn theory into experiments, and I document the decisions, failures and verification steps along the way.
It is intended to show how I learn, how I investigate and how I build competence.
